SHR001-3: Bejing Great Wall Hiking Tour
Introduction Beijing is not only the political center of China, but it is also the most strategic city in the north. Many dynasties in Chinese history actively built walls in this area. Among many historical ruins of the Great Wall in Beijing, the wall built during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) is the most often seen and best preserved, running over 373 miles and containing about 827 city wall platforms, 71 passes and countless towers. The famous Great Wall sections include the Badaling, Huanghuacheng, Mutianyu, Jiankou, Gubeikou, Jinshanling and Simatai great wall.
Bejing Great Wall Hiking Tour In this tour you will visit five Great Walls. Simatai.In Jingshanling and Gubeikou you will avoid the crowd, and it is even more beautiful and has fewer tourists.
Day1: Arrival in Beijing Our guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area at airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.
Day2: Badaling-Juyongguan-Ming Tomb Our English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby in the early morning. Then drive to Badaling Great Wall for 1.5 hours, and then go down to transfer to the Juyongguan Great Wall(the most magnificent pass under the heaven) for 1 hour or so. Have lunch in local restaurant. Visit the sacred road and the Ming Tomb in the afternoon.
Day3: Simatai-Jinshanling Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel. Drive about 3 hours to the Simatai Great Wall. Hike at the Simatai section from east to west for about 2 hours. Walk down and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Hike from the west part of the Simatai section to the Jinshanling Great Wall for about 3.5 hours. Check in the hotel near the Jinshanling Great Wall. Have dinner in the hotel.
Day4: Jingshanling-Gubeikou After having breakfast in the hotel, check-out. Then start to hike from the Jinshanling Great Wall to the Gubeikou Great Wall. It takes about 3 hours to hike. You can see the authentic Great Wall and avoid crowds, giving you the chance to truly enjoy the environment and details of the Wall. Our transportation will wait for you at the foot of the Gubeikou Great Wall. Then drive back to your hotel in Beijing.
Day5: Departure Hotel check-out and pick up then be transfer to the airport to fly home or next destination.
