CUT003-5: Beijing-Xi’an-Guilin-Shanghai

 

Introduction:

As the capital of the People's Republic of China, Beijing is located in northern China, covers an area of more than 16,410 square kilometers (6,336 square miles) and has a population of 14.93 million people.

Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi province, located in the southern part of the Guanzhong Plain. With the Qinling Mountains to the south and the Weihe River to the north, it is in a favorable geographical location surrounded by water and hills. It has a semi-moist monsoon climate and there is a clear distinction between the four seasons. Except the colder winter, any season is relatively suitable for traveling.

Guilin is regarded in China as the countries most picturesque city. Two crystal-clear rivers meander through the city, which is encircled by mountains with unusual & bizarre rock formations and caves.

Shanghai, an open city on the coast and a famous historical and cultural city, is a gate to the Yangtze River delta. It is a municipality under the direct jurisdiction of the Central Government, the largest economic and trade center, a comprehensive industrial base and the leading port in China.

 

 

Beijing-Xi’an-Guilin-Shanghai

Not just a country, China is a different world. This is an experience in your life to see varied aspects of China from a picturesque countryside to mind boggling structures.

 

Day1: Arrive in Beijing

Our well-trained tour guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer to the hotel in the city. Than visit the Tiananmen Square –the largest city square in the world and the Forbidden City which used to be the living place of the emperors of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

 

Day2: Great Wall (Mutianyu or Badaling) – Ming Tombs

Drive to the Great Wall (Mutianyu or Badaling) which is located 50 miles away from the city (2 hours drive), hiking there for one and half hours. Enjoy your lunch. In the afternoon, move on to the Ming Tomb where 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) were buried. Transfer back to your hotel.

 

Day3: Summer Palace - Temple of Heaven
After having breakfast, go on visiting the Summer Palace - the greatest imperial garden in China. Afternoon visit the Temple of Heaven where the emperors worshipped for the harvest, then stroll the Hu Tong (also know as Rickshaw tour) to experience the real life of the Beijing local people.

 

Day4: Fly to Xi’an – City Wall – Great Mosque – Wild Goose Pagada

Arrive in Xi’an, visit the City Wall, the construction was initiated by Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty, who was in regime between 1370-1378 AD. The circumference of the city wall is 13,49 Km long, 1 meter high and 15 meters wide on the top. Visit the Great mosque, the largest and best preserved of the early mosques of China, built primarily also in the Ming Dynasty. And visit the Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of Xi'an, originally built in 652 during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), it functioned to collect Buddhist materials that were taken from India by the hierarch Xuanzang.

 

Day5: The Terra Cotta – Mt. Huashan

Drive 1 hours, visit the Terra Cotta. Upon ascending the throne at the age of 13 (246 BC), Qin shi Huang, later the first Emperor of all China, had begun to work for his mausoleum. Took 11 years to finish, it is speculated that many buried treasures and sacrificial objects had accompanied the emperor in his after life. Altogether over 7,000 pottery soldiers, horses, chariots, and weapons on life size figures arranged are the star features at the museum. Then driver to Huashan Mountain, Situated in Huayin County, is some 120 kilometers (about 75 miles) east of Xi'an City, in the end of the afternoon.

 

Day6: Mt. Huashan - trek
Take cable car to Middle Peak, Mt. Hua was historically the location of several influential Taoist monasteries, and was known as a center for the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts. In Shaanxi Province. This mountain is celebrated for its majestic breath-taking crags, steep paths, beautiful scenery and it is said to be the most precipitous mountain in the world. Trek from Middle Peak to North Peak and west peak (2,082 meters), then arrive at the South Peak (Landing Wild Goose Peak), is the highest at 2,160 meters, when travelling to the top of the peak, you would feel that you can touch the stars in the sky. Trek pass to the East Peak and return by cable car to the same hotel(carry lunch with us ). Trekking time: 5-6h.

 

Day7: Fly to Guilin
Drive back to Xi'an, and transfer to the airport station to catch the flight to Guilin. Arrive in Guilin and transfer to the hotel in the city. In the afternoon excurse by cable car to the Yao Shan hill, enjoying the great view of sunset.

Day8: The rice terraces in Longji
Drive about 2 hours to Longji in Longsheng area, which is mostly, inhabited by people of the Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong minorities. They have kept most of their ancient customs and traditions. The rice terraces in Longji, built centuries ago by the Zhuang people, are the largest terraces in the world, compared with those in Banau in Northern Philippines. Longji means "Dragon's backbone". After a picnic we'll hike 4-5 hours through this stunning landscape. Overnight in a small hotel on the Rice Terrace of Longji.

Day9: Guilin – Reed Flute Cave
Drive back to Guilin, and visit the Reed Flute Cave, well Known as "Natural Art Palace". In the Cave, there are lots of "dripstones" in fantastic formations.

Day10: Lijiang River cruises boat
Take the cruise boat; The Li River is one of the many attractions of Guilin. Li River boat cruises from Guilin to Yangshuo are very popular. At each turn of the river, many of the peaks had a legend associated with them, and some rock faces were said to represent figureheads. Take lunch on the boat. After arriving in Yangshuo, take a walk along the West Street - the biggest commercial center in Yangshuo.

Day11: Fly to Shanghai
Check out of the hotel and transfer back to Guilin, then flight to Shanghai. Arrive in Shanghai and transfer to the hotel in the city. In the afternoon, walk on the bund, enjoying those old buildings mostly constructed in 1920s, such as the Peace Hotel.

 

Day12:Yuyuan Garden and the old quarter – River cruise tour

Visit the Yuyuan Garden, Yuyuan means a Garden of Peace and comfort, the Garden is a traditional Chinese park complete with pavilions, lakes, bridges and rock, this small park is located in the heart of Shanghai's old Chinese quarter, built in 1559. Afternoon, take a river cruise tour for 2 hours.

 

Day13: Visit in Suzhou
Drive 1.5 hours to Suzhou, a beautiful and fascinating city in the South of China, is well known for its silk production, and delicate garden constructions, temples, bridges and water make Suzhou a characteristic city with southern Chinese style. Visit the famous Zhuozhengyuan Garden (Humble Administrator's Garden) and Shizilin (Lion Grove Garden) in the morning, these gardens are a masterpiece of Ming Dynasty Chinere classic garden. Visit The Suzhou Silk Museum and The Silk Factory, to know its history and process of production.

 

Day14: Shanghai - Shopping or city tour

Transfer back to Shanghai, take a walk in the commercial walking district for your shopping, or you can do a city tour if you prefer.

Day15: Depart Shanghai
Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport station to catch the flight to home.
