SHR003-1: Guilin Scenery

Introduction

Guilin is regarded in China as the countries most picturesque city. Two crystal-clear rivers meander through the city, which is encircled by mountains with unusual & bizarre rock formations and caves.

Guilin’s reputation as one of the worlds most a beautiful places has become established over hundreds of years and ranks second on China list of the 10 best tourist destinations.

It is currently home to ethnic 12 nationalities with a total population of 1,260,000 in the city and surrounding area. The Li River meanders through Guilin from north to south. Most of Guilin lies on the western bank of the Li River.

Guilin Scenery

The scenery of Guilin has been called the finest under heaven. No residents in other parts of China could be so close to nature as in Guilin. During your Li river cruise, the beautiful landscape and country scenery will never disappoint you. Arrive at the destination Yangshuo, you will find there is over 300 cafes, restaurants, hotels art crafts and tourist stores, foreign language clubs, etc. Yangshuo was reputed as "Earth Village in China".

Day1: Arriving
Our tour guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer to the hotel in the city. In the afternoon excurse by cable car to the Yao Shan hill, enjoying the great view of sunset.

Day2: The rice terraces in Longji
Driveabout 2 hours to Longji in Longsheng area, which is mostly, inhabited by people of the Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong minorities. They have kept most of their ancient customs and traditions. The rice terraces in Longji, built centuries ago by the Zhuang people, are the largest terraces in the world, compared with those in Banau in Northern Philippines. Longji means "Dragon's backbone". After a picnic we'll hike 4-5 hours through this stunning landscape. Overnight in a small hotel on the Rice Terrace of Longji.

Day3: Trek into the village Yao
After breakfast, start our trek from the hotel, pass Lulan village arrive at Dazhai village. Dazhai village located at higher altitude that is famous for its higher and harder to reach terraces. It is inhabited by Yao minority people, who maintain a custom where adult woman to keep long hair, bundled in high upon their heads. In the afternoon, we can continue our trek to Xiaozhai village, another natural village of Yao ethnic minority. It will be a wonderful thing to spend some hours to taste a life of Yao people. Overnight in guesthouse in the village.

Day4: Reed Flute Cave
Transfer 2 hours back to Guilin. Visit the Reed Flute Cave, well known as "Natural Art Palace". In the Cave, there are lots of "dripstones" in fantastic formations.

Day5: Li River cruises boat
Take the cruise boat; The Li River is one of the many attractions of Guilin. Li River boat cruises from Guilin to Yangshuo are very popular. At each turn of the river, many of the peaks had a legend associated with them, and some rock faces were said to represent figureheads. Take lunch on the boat. After arriving in Yangshuo, take a walk along the West Street - the biggest commercial center in Yangshuo. You will enjoy a dinner in a special Chinese restaurant.

Day6: Guilin - Yangshuo
Yangshuo is a great place for hiking and cycling excursions. There's no doubt that taking a close-up exploration to the country villages, you can choose which you prefer, hiking or cycling in some tradition Chinese villages.

Day7: Departure
Check out of the hotel and transfer back to Guilin, then flight to return home.
